Our Story
HardyQ Barbecue came to life during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, when Myron Hardy - the business’s Chief Smoking Officer — went live on Facebook to cut a brisket he’d smoked. To bring a bit of joy and humor to the live event, Myron carved the meat with surgical-like precision while grooving to the sounds of old school R&B music. During the Facebook event, Myron invited friends to taste the brisket if they were willing to come pick it up from HardyQ Headquarters. The overwhelming response led to the creation of “The SAMICH”, slices of saucy succulent brisket topped with pickles between a warm bun. Myron continued to smoke more briskets and made more live videos, which created a grassroots following. The SAMICH is now the flagship item on a menu of various smoked meat meals and platters. Myron’s delicacies and word of mouth led to the opportunity for him to host a weekly pop-up at the Tenison Golf Course Park to sell, “The SAMICH” and he now ships smoked meats across the country. HardyQ Barbecue has found its way to California, Arkansas, Illinois, Georgia and various parts of his home state of Texas. From a pandemic pastime to full-time business, HardyQ has managed to tickle the tastebuds of friends, family and the community with delicious smoked meats. HardyQ is here to love people and serve them good food!
